How many pets can I have?

There is a limit of 3 dogs and 3 cats within city limits per Ordinance 2008-2. See section 6.04.12.

Can I have chickens in the city limits?

No, chickens are not allowed in city limits. See section 6.08.05.

How tall can my grass get before I have to mow it?

Grass can grow to 12 inches before mowing per Ordinance A-535. See section 5.04.01.

What are the rules regarding code enforcement?

Will the city pick up leaves?

Yes, the city will pick up bagged leaves per Ordinance 2019-2.

I have items to throw away that won’t fit in my trashcan. Will the city pick them up?

Yes, junk pickup requests should be called in at 870-364-2157 per Ordinance 2019-2.

Can leaves be burned?

Yes, leaves can be burned in the back yard in a 36-inch burn ring per Ordinance 2019-2.

What are the water rates?

Water rates can be found in Ordinance 2021-1.

What are the sewer rates?

Sewer rates can be found in Ordinance 2024-1.

What if I break my water meter while mowing?

The homeowner is responsible for damages to water meters per Ordinance.

Do I have to put a fence around my swimming pool?

Yes, a fence is required around pools with water deeper than 15″. For detailed specifications, see Ordinance 2003-21.

I want to open a business. Do I need a business license from the City?

Yes, occupational business licenses are required per Ordinance A-201. Contact City Hall at 870-364-8645 for more information. See Title 4.

Can I discharge fireworks in the city limits?

No, you cannot use fireworks within city limits per Ordinance A-585; however, sparklers are allowed. See chapter 7.48.

Will the city pick up limbs?

Yes, the city will pick up limbs per Ordinance number. Limbs must be placed near the street away from any obstructions per ordinance 2019-2.

What can I sell at the Farmer’s Market?

Individuals that aren’t retail merchants can only sell agricultural and handcrafted products or homemade items at the Crossett Farmer’s Market per Ordinance 2019-5.

What election zone (ward) am I in?

The election zone of citizens depends on the location of their main home address per Ordinance 2022-2. Map Link
